![]() ![]() Some rare, fragile, or gift materials may have restricted use. Some materials are stored and need to be paged. Rutgers University Libraries’ collections are available to all individuals for use on site. For information about access for library users with disabilities, see the Accessibility at Rutgers University Libraries web page. Where self-use of library facilities and/or services is difficult or impossible, the Libraries will make special provisions as needed to permit users with disabilities to examine sources, retrieve materials, and access services. A video record is made of everyone who enters a library facility. Some library locations limit access to Rutgers students, faculty, and staff during late night and weekend hours. Individuals may be required to show a Rutgers identification card for admittance, and if they do not have Rutgers identification, will be required to produce other acceptable identification and sign in. See the following pages for more information:īefore individuals enter and as they leave library facilities, they may be asked to show the contents of their backpacks, bags, or briefcases. There are also separate facilities for a management and labor relations library and two law school libraries that coordinate with but that are not administratively part of Rutgers University Libraries. It is therefore important that all borrowed materials be returned, and that lost materials be paid for.įor graduating students, diplomas will be held back until all obligations to the library are satisfied.Rutgers University Libraries include libraries, centers, and collections at physical facilities distributed across the Rutgers campuses. In addition, a hold on your academic record will interfere with providing proof of graduation when applying to the Bar. Please be aware that in the legal field, it is common for potential employers to require a recent academic transcript. A hold will be placed on the borrowing privileges and academic records of any student with overdue materials. Overdue Books:Fines are charged for overdue books, and students are responsible for returning books by the due date. All materials may be renewed unless recalled by another patron. Course reserves can be search here.īorrowing: For all students, circulating materials may be checked out for term loans. They should contact their professors for assistance. They should have access to their courses through Canvas. Research and Reference: Reference Librarians can assist students with any legal research matters and are available to students at the reference desk and by appointment for more in-depth legal research instruction.Ĭourse Reserve: Students who need to request materials on reserve should be able to do so through the catalog's "Chapter Request" feature. Materials borrowed via ILL may be returned at any Rutgers library. Contact your liaison for help or call the Camden Branch or Newark Branch Reference Desks. Please ask at the reference desk for details and assistance. Students who are doing source-collecting for Journals need to check with the editor-in-chief of their journal when placing ILL requests. You can place an ILL request directly by activating and using your own ILL account. If you can't find what you are looking for in the Law Library or through RUL, consider making an Interlibrary Loan request.
